Three separate levers operate the forklifts’ up and down, tilt and side shift motions. Pulling back on the up and down lever, causes the forks to raise, while pushing forward on the same lever commands the forks to go down. Pulling back the lever will cause the load to tilt back and pushing forward, the load will tilt forward. Concerning the side shift lever, push forward and it moves to the left while pulling back, it goes to the right. The forward and reverse for the transmission is located on the steering column. All forklifts steer from the rear tires and this allows the device to turn within a tighter radius.
